IT Challenge

As Co-founder and CTO of logen.ai, Ludwig was not only responsible for technical delivery and infrastructure but also for every aspect of internal IT – from device setup to support requests.

“People would just come to me in person or write on Slack like, ‘Hey, this isn’t working.’ And I already had a full day without those things,” Ludwig says.

Onboarding new employees was also resource-heavy. New hires got checklists and spent some time manually installing tools, requesting access, and waiting for accounts – with founders sitting beside them, supporting through the process.

“The first day was usually just spent with me or my co-founder sitting beside the new joiner, troubleshooting permissions and creating accounts,” Ludwig remembers.

In a 10-person team where most employees are developers, that kind of hands-on setup doesn’t scale. Devices were tracked in Excel. IT requests showed up as Slack pings. And when something broke, Ludwig had to figure it out himself.

It worked in the early days, but as the team grew, the cost of context-switching and manual admin was getting harder to justify. IT needed to grow up without becoming a distraction.
